About Us
The Parramatta Street Youth Project is committed to promoting and meeting the needs of homeless young people in Western Sydney. It will develop caring ministry opportunities for joint venture partners and work with existing services and church groups. PSYP will then be able to support homeless young people both practically and relationally to bring about positive change in their lives as they move towards independent living.

Homeless Persons Week in Parramatta
Homeless Persons Week launches in Parramatta on the first Sunday in August each year with the arrival of the Bikers Australia Blanket Run to the Church Street Amphitheatre. An event organised by the Parramatta Street Youth Project and the Homeless Persons Week Committee, donated blankets are then distributed to homeless people and other services by Anglicare’s Street Outreach Team.
During the week there are events in the Church St Mall including live music events, a morning tea and promotions by the Homeless Persons Week Committee. A highlight each year is the Memorial Service for Homeless People who have died put on by Parramatta Mission, who also organise the Mayoral lunch for homeless people.
Training and History
Over the years PSYP has established and assisted in a range of homelessness projects.
PSYP is now developing a supported accommodation project for homeless young people which will provide support from local church groups, volunteer training and will link residents to government, welfare and community groups.
